fotografías españoles - EU Life+ Los Desiertos verdes successful reforestation of a garbage dump at Fuensaldaňa Province of Valladolid Spain
Project Life+ Los Desiertos Verdes in Fuensaldaňa Espaňa planted by the province of Valladolid
This place is a garbage dump covered with 50 cm of very poor soil
The place is covered with thistles the only plant that knows how to survive the poor soil and the drought
There is no micro life what so ever in this soil
No spontaneous germination of trees the soil is too dry and poor
The absence of sound micro life results in an eroded closed top layer
With the Groasis waterboxx we know how to plant without irrigation
Project manager Angel Santos lifts a box to check it
He checks the result and finds there is over 90% survival rate in these extreme circumstances
Revoltosa Films owner Fabio Cesariny from Madrid makes a documentary of the 5 year taking The Green Deserts Life+ Project
We find wasp nests in the rabbit protectors
The morning sun and the dew on top of the box gives a nice brilliance effect
The water boxes produce their own water they never have to be filled after planting
The trees are small but grow well after the severe winter
Valladolid planted productive trees producing fruit
In a few years the garbage dump will be productive like the vineyard behind it
Valladolid makes wasted land productive again without using energy for pumps and scarce water for irrigation
